Story

I wrote this song because I can't imagine what this world would be like without Jesus.  I love Christmas and the love that abounds at this time of year!

Lyrics

The World Will Never be The Same ©TaniaNicholson 12/24/2013

A town called Bethlehem is where it would begin

With tired travelers and no room at the inn

A mother’s time had come and all that could be found

was a barn where animals were bedded down

Joseph made a place for Mary’s weary head

He remembered everything the angel said

That through the Holy Spirit this child became

Our Immanuel and Jesus was His name

(CHORUS)

The world will never be the same, since the night our Savior came

Bestowing hope in every heart, That God and man would never part

Just a baby lain in hay, our Jesus Christ was born that day

Forever more our Lord to reign, and still today angels proclaim

Gloria, Gloria, Gloria

Shepherds in the fields had sheep to watch and guide

An Angel of the Lord appeared, they were terrified

“Do not be afraid, I bring good news and joy

A Savior’s born today, it’s God’s own baby boy”

A heavenly host began to sing their songs of praise

Thanking God for the Messiah born that day,

“Glory to God in the highest” they professed

“and peace to those of you on whom his favors rest.”

(CHORUS)

The world will never be the same, since the night our Savior came

Bestowing hope in every heart, That God and man would never part

Just a baby lain in hay, our Jesus Christ was born that day

Forever more our Lord to reign, and still today angels proclaim

Gloria, Gloria, Gloria

That first Christmas seems so very long ago

but it’s the start of the greatest story that we know

A tiny babe was born to set all captives free

And that promise still holds true for you and me

(CHORUS)

The world will never be the same, since the night our Savior came

Bestowing hope in every heart, That God and man would never part

Just a baby lain in hay, our Jesus Christ was born that day

Forever more our Lord to reign, and still today angels proclaim

Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria

Just a baby lain in hay

Story

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus our King, we remember why God sent Him to us -  to redeem and save us.  What an incredible gift.  As we gather with friends and family, we share our love for them in a way we neglect through-out the year.  We take the time to say "I love you", and give gifts to show we care.  We are emulating God when we do this, and remembering that God gave us the sweetest gift of all in His Son Jesus, because He loves us so very much.

Story

Away in a Manger is a classic Christmas carol that I have always loved.  It is written much like a lullaby for children.  The stark comparison of the sweet, innocent baby Jesus and the grown Jesus who lay down on the cross for every one of us, is almost incomprehensible.  When we celebrate Christmas we often forget; or perhaps intentionally block out the fact that this baby was born with the sole purpose of leading us to the Father and dying for our sins. With this in mind, I wanted to update Away in a Manger to be more viable to the adult listener so I added a chorus that ties the two images of Jesus together.

Imagine!  Hearing angels singing.  As if that's not miraculous enough, they are informing you that a savior is coming to save you from death and will be with us always!  Now that's a song worth singing!
